Review – Urban Species tank tops

I love the range of women’s Star Wars long tank tops made by Urban Species, and I recently narrowed down my favourites from the range – the vintage style Princess Leia tank top, and the Geometric Empire tank top. They are priced at £25.75 (US$38.40) each, and are still available at ASOS (Leia tank and Empire tank). Available in sizes S to L, I bought both of mine in size S – the tank tops themselves are made by ‘Bella’, with very slight sizing differences (as expected) –

Princess Leia tank top – 100% cotton

  • 39.5cm across the chest (underarm to underarm)
  • 61cm from front neckline to front hem

Geometric Empire tank top – 90% cotton, 10% polyester

  • 38.5cm across the chest (underarm to underarm)
  • 64cm from front neckline to front hem

The images themselves are really nice and soft – not thick at all, and stretch well with the garment (so won’t ‘crack’ like some types of prints). I really like the longer cut of the tank tops, but there’s still plenty of space below the print to shorten the hem if desired. I’m certainly drawn to any garment that features Princess Leia by herself (the vintage style border and text are great), and I love the geometric style of the Empire on Hoth design – it’s not that common to find the Imperial probe droid on women’s apparel! I’m really happy with these two Urban Species tank tops – I’ve already got my eye on a few others from the range.
