Today’s review features the R2-D2 debossed clutch by Bioworld. I find I don’t often use large handbags, so I love having a range of small bags and clutches to pair with my outfits. This R2-D2 clutch was instantly on my wish list – the ‘Beep Bloop’ design is so fun and playful, but still a little bit subtle at the same time.

The clutch is made from a metallic silver faux leather, which has a visible texture. Both sides feature a ‘debossed’ design, with a raised print. The front features a speech bubble of the word ‘Beep’, while the back features a speech bubble of the word ‘Bloop’ – in reference to R2-D2’s beeping speech pattern. The clutch measures approximately 21.5cm across, and 12cm high.
Inside there is a wonderful pop of colour, with a pink and cyan print on black lining fabric. The print is composed of astromech panel details – I just love this pattern, I would love to see it used for full garments! There are no pockets inside, which is pretty standard for a small size clutch.
Another fabulous detail is the R2-D2 pendant attached to the left side. Made from a silver-tone metal, the pendant features R2-D2’s details on the front, accented with enamel (the back is plain). This pendant dangles from a chain attached to the seam, and is not removable – but I would never want to take it off, it’s such a great detail. The pendant measures approximately 26mm high and 26mm across, while the chain measures approximately 30mm long.
The top zip is black with silver-tone plastic teeth, and a silver-tone zipper-pull. There is a hint of the lining fabric at each end of the zip, with silver faux leather strips. The left seam also features a black tag featuring the Star Wars logo, noting this is a licensed item.
I have used this clutch so many times, it is already a wardrobe staple. It is just the right size for all my evening essentials (phone, cash etc), and the silver colour goes with so many outfits. I love pairing this clutch with a white/silver Princess Leia themed outfit, the perfect companion to look after your valuables (or Death Star plans).
