Review – Wet Seal tank top

Recently I picked up the women’s Star Wars grey and white tank top from Wet Seal. It has since sold out from Wet Seal, but is now currently available at Hot Topic. I am fond of Star Wars tops for women that vary from a standard t-shirt cut, so this one was definitely on my shopping list. The printed garment information describes the top as 60% cotton, 40% polyester. The white contrast panel at the top is a slightly sheer fabric, matching well to the soft grey fabric for the main part. The curved lower edge of the top appears to be hemmed, but in fact isn’t – just reinforced with an overlocked/serged top stitch. The dropped arm holes are also raw edged, adding to it’s casual style. The black artwork on the front is neat, featuring characters and scenes from all three original trilogy films, such as the first Death Star, Cloud City, Yoda, Boba Fett and the Emperor.

I paid US$19.90 from Wet Seal, and ordered the size small. It measures approximately 48cm across the chest (side seam to side seam), 26cm across at the seam between white and grey fabrics, and 54cm from front collar to lower hem. I think it’s a great top, the contrast band and raw edges really add a point of interest.
