Review – We Love Fine knitted sweaters

During the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, I of course grabbed a few pieces of Star Wars apparel I had my eye on. The latest arrivals from my sale shopping are these two Star Wars women’s knitted sweaters from We Love Fine. Their regular retail price is US$48, but with the sale discount I paid US$36 for each. I ordered mine in size xs – and was surprised by the actual size, each sweater measuring 21″ across the chest, much larger than I was expecting for xs. The item listing describes them as ‘loose fit’ so that is definitely true. They are ‘medium weight’ which I like – it does not snow where I live, so I don’t need my sweaters to be very thick.  I’m happy to finally have some Star Wars sweaters for the colder months – though it is summer here in New Zealand at the moment!

The first is a black and white knitted sweater, with a stormtrooper helmet printed on the front. The screen print quality of the print is good, and the acrylic knit is soft – a nice material for those who find that wool can irritate their skin. The garment tag at the neckline is sewn down, and there is also a small ‘We Love Fine’ tag sewn to the lower hem – this isn’t pictured in the We Love Fine product photos, but I’m fine with it.

The second sweater is blue and white, featuring the vintage ‘Star Wars’ logo in silver on the front. The sweater is a little darker in colour to that pictured on their website – and darker than in my own photographs below, I like the darker blue. Again, it has a sewn in tag at the neckline and lower hem. I really like the silver screen print on this one, with it’s starry effect. The paint is slightly raised, reminding me of glitter puffy paint almost, but very neatly done. The white stripes on the arms are cream coloured in comparison to the white of the stormtrooper sweater sleeves. As with the stormtrooper sweater, it is also 100% acrylic, cold hand wash only – which will also help prolong the life of the prints.

The sweaters are still available at We Love Fine, but some sizes are low in stock – Striped Trooper Sweater and Up And Away Sweater
