Today’s review features the gorgeous Star Wars X-Wing necklace by One Force Designs. I have been following One Force Designs ever since their first announcement, and couldn’t wait to see their gorgeous Star Wars jewelry in person! This X-Wing necklace is one of my favourite items from the range – I always love a little bling in my Star Wars jewelry!
Wrap this necklace around you and fly one with the force . From way out in the galaxy, we present our x-wing series. One of the rebel alliances most advanced fighters, conquer the galactic civil war. We equip you with these X-wing pieces to prepare you for battle and bring you to victory
The necklace is priced at US$21.99 – One Force Designs can ship internationally, which is great! They even offer free standard shipping on orders over US$75!
Star Wars X-Wing Necklace (Silver Plated) – US$21.99 each
The necklace came packaged inside a satin fabric drawstring gift bag, with the Star Wars logo printed on the front (and the Star Wars/Disney copyright information on the back). This is a lovely presentation, perfect for a gift (or as a treat for yourself). Inside, the bag is lined with silver satin fabric, and the bag closes with gold cord drawstrings.
Inside, the necklace is kept secure in a clear plastic envelope – this envelope has a ‘Disney Licensed Merchandise’ hologram sticker, again noting this is officially licensed jewelry. Inside, the necklace also has a small label/barcode sticker attached, which is easily removed.
The necklace features a long strand of box-style link chain, with two pendants, one at each end of the chain – a long bar pendant with 13 clear diamantes, and a 3D sculpted X-Wing Fighter pendant. The necklace is silver plated, so it has a gorgeous shiny finish! This is a long chain style necklace – the chain measures approximately in 75cm length, not including pendants.
Approximate measurements (at the widest parts, not including hanger rings) –
- X-Wing Fighter pendant – 16.5mm long, 17mm wide
- Diamante Bar pendant – 34mm long, 3.5mm wide
The X-Wing pendant sculpt is slightly stylised – but is still completely recognisable. The design works well for the size of the pendant – fine details are better suited for larger pendants. Here the laser cannons are rounded off, to avoid sharp points. Some other jewelry designs have cut off the cannons entirely to solve this issue, but I feel that detracts from the classic X-Wing fighter silhouette.
I have (and love) a few different Star Wars long chain necklaces, but they often have large/heavy pendants. I love the slender style of this necklace, it is reminiscent of a body chain, but without the extra strands. This necklace looks gorgeous with a low neckline, or worn completely over your clothes.
The back of each pendant is flat – the text ‘©LFL’ is etched into the back of the X-Wing fighter pendant, noting this is a licensed item.
Instead of a closure at the apex of the chain (worn behind your neck), this chain adjusts with a circular bead at the front. The inside of the bead is just small enough to fit two strands, but holds in place. You can adjust the position of the bead, and how high/low each of the pendants sit – that is, they can sit at the same height as each other, or you can adjust their positions to have one higher and one lower. The higher up you adjust one pendant, the lower the other pendant will hang.
This chain is a fixed length, unlike some necklaces which have a length of wider-link chain at the clasp to shorten or lengthen the necklace. The design of this necklace works around that by giving you complete control over where you want the featured pendant to sit. From almost choker position at the neckline with one very long hanging strand, to equal lengths sitting approximately chest height – you can adjust to suit your preference, or to coordinate with your outfit. An added bonus – no fiddling with closures when getting ready, simply slip it over your head!
You can choose which pendant you want to be the ‘main’ pendant – wear the X-Wing pendant higher up for a more prominent visible position, or show off the diamante bar for a more subtle look, with the X-Wing pendant hanging lower at the end of the longer chain.
This necklace is part of a coordinating range – there are also matching earrings and a bracelet available (all three items are made in both silver and gold plated finishes, and all feature clear diamantes). I am such a fan of jewelry sets – this set looks like a cute little X-Wing Fighter Squadron ready for battle, or just looking fabulous!
