In April 2014, StarWars.com announced a collaboration with footwear company Vans. The line launched with an initial range of six shoe styles, with a further six limited edition designs under the ‘Vault by Vans’ label. The collection has since expanded, including t-shirts, caps and backpacks, as well as more footwear options.
The Star Wars Vans didn’t arrive at New Zealand stockists until August, four months after their release overseas. Many Star Wars products don’t make their way here at all, so it was nice to see local retailers offering the line. Vans shoes aren’t my usual style (I’m much more of a high heel girl), but the need for more Star Wars options in my wardrobe has lead me to seriously consider picking up a pair.
As the adult footwear is unisex U.S. sizing, I found the Vans.com shopping website quite good for figuring out the right size, with women’s equivalent sizing listed (i.e. size 8 mens = 9.5 women’s). Unfortunately Vans.com doesn’t ship outside the U.S., but they accept international credit cards, allowing overseas customers to shop the site if they have a U.S. mail box/redirection service.
The website Journeys.com also has a few exclusive shoes/tees available, with equivalent sizing listed, and thankfully they do ship internationally.
