Today’s review features the Star Wars Rebel Alliance 3 tier necklace by Body Vibe. First released back in December 2015, this necklace caught my attention straight away – I love a little bit of sparkle in my Star Wars jewelry! I don’t own any other multi-strand necklaces, so I was interested to try a different style to my usual single-chain options.

The necklace came in a nice black gift box, with the Star Wars logo on the outside. Opening the magnetic flap reveals The Force Awakens artwork inside the top lid, with the necklace on a backing card inside. Each of the 3 pendants had a small piece of clear plastic wrapped around them for protection, while the rest of the chain lengths were tucked behind the card. The box I received is different to the one pictured on the Body Vibe wholesale website, but they have changed their packaging design a few times so it was no surprise.
The necklace features 3 silver-tone chains, each with a small pendant. The chains are lovely and fine, giving the necklace a feminine style. As with many Body Vibe x Star Wars items, this necklace is made from 316L Stainless Steel.
The shortest/top chain features a curved bar pendant with 8 inset clear rhinestones, the second/middle chain features a cut-out Star Wars logo pendant, while the third/longest chain features a small cut-out Rebel Alliance symbol pendant. The back of the Rebel Alliance pendant features the standard Lucasfilm copyright text, noting this is a licensed item. Approximate measurements – bar pendant 18mm long, Star Wars logo 13mm long, and Rebel Alliance 8mm wide.
The rhinestone bar and Star Wars logo pendant are fixed in place on their chain – that is, the chain attaches to either side of the pendant, so they can’t swing. The Rebel Alliance symbol pendant is hung from a ring, so it can move along the chain. Also, the third/longest chain (with the Rebel Alliance pendant) has slightly larger links than the other 2 chains – I didn’t notice this at first, as they are very close in size.
The necklace chains lengths are noted as – 18″, 20″, 24″ on the Body Vibe wholesale website. Including the pendants, I found mine is slightly longer, at 18 1/2″, 20 1/4″, and 24″ – I believe the website listing does not include the 2 pendants which are part of the chain (which is why the longest chain is the same measurement, as the hanging pendant does not add any length to the chain). I prefer to wear mine at the shortest length, the chains are just the right lengths to sit nicely across my chest.
All three chains are joined together at the ends – this ensures they always hang at the same place in relation to each other. The necklace is adjustable, with approximately 7cm of wider adjustment chain, and closes with a lobster claw style clasp. Because 2 of the pendants are fixed in place, adjusting the necklace longer will mean wearing the clasp slightly to one side behind your neck, to ensure the necklace hangs straight at the front.
I have to be careful handling and storing this necklace, as it tangles a little easily. When the box arrived in the mail, the chain lengths behind the backing card were already tangled from movement. I prefer to store mine on a jewelry display stand to avoid the chains overlapping and tangling – hanging from a jewelry tree/hook also works well.
For a size comparison, here is the small Rebel Alliance pendant compared to the larger single pendant version also made by Body Vibe. I love having options in my wardrobe – while my Rebel pendant is one of my most-worn necklaces, it is great to have something a little more delicate and subtle. This is my first mult-strand Star Wars necklace, and I definitely love the layered look.
