As part of their Spring 2016 ready to wear runway collection, Paris-based fashion designer brand Vetements included a skirt with a clear Star Wars reference. The long maxi-length skirt features artwork similar to/referencing the Episode 1 poster art – with the text ‘Star Girls’ instead of Star Wars. The artwork is very close to the original version by Drew Struzan, but it is different – I’m not sure if this version was created exclusively for the Vetements garment. I’m always excited to see fashion designers creating garments inspired by Star Wars – this is one fun example.
